Wireless sensing
Communicating and sensing through the same hardware.
The research setting
During my Mitacs Globalink internship at the University of Manitoba, I worked under Prof. Amine Mezghani on integrated sensing and communication, or ISAC.
What I built
I developed MATLAB simulations for a two-port leaky-wave antenna system and an interference-aware scheduler. The work involved modelling the system, designing simulation experiments and comparing allocation strategies.
Continuing the investigation
In a separate post-internship simulation study, I explored maximum-likelihood angle estimation from two-feed pilots. This extended the simulation work from resource allocation toward estimating the measurements the system needs.
What this experience gave me
Experience working in a research setting: turning assumptions into a model, testing an approach, analysing results and understanding the limits of a simulation.
Understanding the measurements and assumptions is part of understanding the result.
Source code kept private. Happy to discuss the architecture and my work.
